Local brother and sister bring home trophies

The 2012 World championship Karate Tournament was held in Las Vegas recently. Two Santa Paula kids from Flores Brothers Kempo Karate Studios competed.
Brother and sister Nikole and Tyler Antwine walked away with four 1st place trophies, one 3rd and one 4th place. Tyler Antwine earned 3 first place awards, 1 for forms, 1 for sparring, and 1 for continuous sparring. Nikole Antwine won a first place in sparring, 3rd place in continuous sparring, and 4th place in forms.
Tyler competed in the 5 and under competition and Nikole competed at the 6 to 8 year old level. Both Nikole and Tyler are blue belts at the Flores Brothers Karate Studio under the guidance of Sifu Elgin Betancourt.
