“Wigs for Kids” receives donation of hair

Above left, 4 year-old Sophia Gonzales is about to have her hair cut  for the program “Wigs for Kids” at Tisa’s Salon & Spa. “Wigs for Kids” has been providing Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues at no cost to children or their families.

Sophia has never had her hair cut and dad was against having it cut; mom and Sophia were excited. Above right, Sophia has the first strand cut by Tisa Grant. Asked how she felt, she said, “My hair won’t get in my food no more.” Sophia is the daughter of Selina Nevarez and Jose Gonzales.
