Guadalupe Hernandez
(1930 - 2014)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Guadalupe Hernandez who went to be with his Lord on April 10, 2014. He died peacefully after a brief illness. He was born May 1, 1930 in Sanabria, Guanajuato Mexico. Guadalupe spent his childhood in Sanabria and then moved to Ventura in the 1950’s and settled in Santa Paula in 1994.
Loving the outdoors, Guadalupe worked successfully as a foreman in the farming industry. In 1959 he married his one and only true love, Raquel Hernandez. His happiest moments were spent with his family and many friends. The highlight of his life was bringing the children toys and sharing family meals and did this almost daily. He was very playful with his grandchildren and spent much time teaching and playing games with them. His three favorite sayings were “have faith”, “be strong” and “anything is possible”. He leaves behind two sons, Joe Hernandez and Angel Hernandez and daughter-in-laws, Lisa and Esmeralda Hernandez. He also leaves his five beloved grandchildren: Sarah Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, Marc Hernandez, Melody Hernandez and Adrianna Hernandez. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and extended family. Our beloved Father and Grandfather (Grandpa) will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday April 16, 2014 in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 424 North Oak Street, Santa Paula. Interment was in Ivy Lawn
Memorial Park 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura. Arrangements were under the direction of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME 757 E. Main Street Ventura, www.ReardonFuneral.com.
