It was white Silverado on white Silverado when two of the popular pickup trucks slammed head-on into each other last week in Santa Paula.
According to Santa Paula Police Sgt. Jeremy Watson, the SPPD Traffic Investigator, the collision occurred Thursday, January 22 at about 4:54 p.m.
Watson said Jonathan Contreras, 18, of Santa Paula was northbound on 10th Street and taking the slight curve that splits into Ojai Road-Hwy 150 when he lost control of his white, 2009 Chevrolet Silverado.
“Contreras claims to have lost control of the steering wheel while negotiating the slight right turn,” that led to a collision into the front of an oncoming vehicle, a white 2005 Chevrolet Silverado that was southbound on Ojai Road.
That white Silverado, driven by Manuel Bouvet, 63, of Santa Paula, was approaching the red light at Santa Paula Street when Contreras’ white Silverado hit his vehicle.
Watson said no one was injured in the incident and both vehicles “Had to be towed from the scene with moderate to major damage.”
