Despite suffering losses in the final two games of the season, the Cardinal JV baseball team finished their season in first place with an 8-4 record. They had won seven games in-a-row earlier in the season. They dropped one of their last games to the Malibu Sharks, 10-4 and then lost to Santa Clara, 7-6. “We were playing great ball,” said Coach Lalo Mota. “We were doing everything right at that point. Even though we lost four of our last games, I was proud of every single one of the guys. Our sophomores carried us this year. We had some freshmen who helped in the cause as well.”Mota said he wouldn’t be surprised if the current freshmen take the team to another first place finish next year.Mota thanked everyone who supported the team throughout the season. “A big thank you to Sheru Aguilera, our team mom for the second year in-a-row.”
