Trip to Carpinteria not pleasant for Lady Cards

The Lady Cardinal volleyball teams played well, but couldn’t overcome the Carpinteria girls Tuesday. The Santa Paula varsity lost in three games 25-22, 25-17 and 25-23. Kellyn Brooks had seven digs and two assists. Esther Magana had six digs and one kill. Mari Hernandez had two aces and two digs. Leah Kolbeck recorded two aces, one block and seven digs. Precious Bibb had one kill and five digs. Kristin Easley had one ace, four kills and two digs. Aracely Navarro had one ace, eight digs and eight assists. Kyla Hernandez had four digs. Rebecca Kolbeck had two kills, two blocks and six digs. The varsity record now stands at 4-2.The JV girls lost both their games to Carp, 25-12 and 25-17. The JV record is now 1-5.
The Lady Cards play at home again Thursday, October 9, starting at 5:00 p.m. with the JV, followed by the varsity.
