The Malibu Sharks brought their big bats to Cardinal territory Friday and went home with a 10-6 win.
The Sharks scored seven times in the first two innings and the Cards just couldn’t make up the difference. “Malibu came out banging, but I was proud of how we battled,” said Coach Gerry Sandoval. “They made a few key plays that kept us from scoring a lot of runs. I tip my hat to the Sharks today.”Randy Aguilera had a key two-run single and Mikey Cortez added two hits. Tony Manzano, Travis McClain and Blake Cowan each hit doubles for Santa Paula. The JV team played at Malibu and lost their game, 4-3. Jonny Carrillo pitched a three-hitter, but errors were the downfall of the team, according to Coach Mike Flores.
