Chamber hires new manager

Ken Brookes of Santa Paula has been named manager of the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce.

Ken Brookes of Santa Paula has been named manager of the Santa Paula Chamber of Commerce. He replaces Joyce Vrajich, who leaves at the end of the month for Tennessee to care for family members.Ken is a long-time resident of Santa Paula and was selected from a field of 40 applicants. The selection committee consisted of seven chamber members. He is married and has two sons, James and Matthew. Ken has worked for Weyerhauser, Venvirotek Inc and the City of Thousand Oaks. He attended Orange Coast College and the University of La Verne.According to Chamber president Anna Manzano, “Ken seems very enthusiastic about helping the Chamber promote business stability and economic vitality. He is willing to carry the banner of prosperity for our members and we are looking forward to getting him up to speed on the issues of the day.
On another note, we are very sad to lose Joyce and Nick Vrajich from the Chamber. They have been instrumental in our progress and have been excellent stewards of the boards talents and resources. Nick chaired the Economic Development Committee and served on the Executive Committee,” Manzano added.Brookes begins his official duties on Monday and will making his way around meeting members and City representatives.
