Local hoop star off to the Phillipines

Sarah Kolbeck, who was a former high school basketball player at Santa Paula High, has recently been invited to play on a special traveling team that will play in the Philippines in August. The team is made up of star women athletes from the Los Angeles and surrounding areas. It will be representing the U.S. and will be playing colleges and universities throughout the Philippines. Sarah has had a very successful basketball career and was named the 2000 Co-MVP of the Frontier League, 2000 Ventura County Player of the Year, was a member of the Ventura College State Women's Basketball Championship Teams for 2000-01 and 2001-02, 1st Team All-Western Sate Conference, 2nd Team All-State while at Ventura College, the 2003 MVP SCIAC league, and 2nd team all-regional while at Claremont College.To make this trip possible, Sarah would like to thank the following sponsors:The Kiwanis Club, Dr. J.
