Valorie Potter honored as Teacher of the Year

Santa Paula Union High School District is proud to announce our Teacher of the Year recipient for 1999-2000 is Valorie Potter. A Special Education teacher at Santa Paula High, Valorie is currently working on her Mild/Moderate Special Education teaching credential at California State University, Northridge. Valorie was first employed with the district on February 3, 1997 in a classified position as a Clerk Typist III. She served as the Athletic Department/ASB clerk. She was also a Pep Squad advisor during the 1996-98 school years. In addition, she is a parent of a high school student at the Home of the Cardinals.Valorie’s peers speak highly of her enthusiasm and love for teaching. She has captured the students in her class, and reaches out to serve their needs.The SPUHSD had the following comments to make about Valorie Potter: “She is very dedicated and hard working, she works in various capacities such as SST Team, mentor for Elementary Education Teacher Aide Program, attends extracurricular activities, CTBS Administrator or test. For a first year teacher she has severest learning disability students and triumphed beautifully. Her involvement outside the classroom with students is great!”
