Boys & Girls Club Auction Saturday

The Boys & Girls Club Annual Dinner & Auction is set for November 6th at the Santa Paula Community Center. The theme this year is “Denim & Diamonds and the special guest for the evening will be Mae West…played by a famous local impersonator helping the auctioneer. She will be assisted by Arnie Dowdy and John Nichols. Mae says “ Come up and see me working the auction on behalf of the kids!” Corporate Sponsors to date are Troop Realty, Cal West Real Estate, Limoneira Company, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, Santa Paula Chevrolet and Union Bank. Silver Sponsors are Bank of America, Centex Homes, Harrison Industries, Pierce Bros.Stetler & Skillin Mortuaries, Santa Clara Valley Bank, Ben Schuck and The Ranch at Santa Paula.. Table Sponsors are Brokaw Nursery, Fruit Growers Lab, Harrison Industries, David Luna, Jim Rivera and Bob & Ellen Smith, Mission Produce, Myers, Widders & Gibson, Progressive Land Management, Santa Paula Rotary Club, Southern California Edison and Westside Family Practice.Additional auction items received this week include 4 beautiful paintings from local artist and owner of Gallery 1020, Robert Herrera, a “Minnesota Dump Dinner” hosted by Gary and Angie Marshall, 2 lovely baskets from Hallmark and Airplane rides from C. P. Aviation and Mike Dewey. Restaurant certificates have been donated from Logsdon’s Restaurant, Familia Diaz, Steak and Hoagie, Pamela’s Tea Room, Boccali’s Suzanne’s Cuisine, La Cabana and Chens Szechwan Restaurant. Mike Hause is responsible for 2 cases of top wines from Fess Parker’s Winery. Mike and Denise donated a case of Meritage and the case donated by Fess Parker’s is 2001 Syrah, and Anne & Jerry Davis have promised a case of various Chardonnays from a winery in Santa Barbara.
