A 22-year-old Santa Paula man who was stabbed multiple times at a weekend party in Ventura is recovering from the unexplained attack.

By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesA 22-year-old Santa Paula man who was stabbed multiple times at a weekend party in Ventura is recovering from the unexplained attack. Although first reported as an assault in Santa Paula, the attack took place outside the city.The unidentified victim was at the party on Balboa Street in an unincorporated area of Ventura early Sunday when a fight broke out right after midnight. Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene but found that the victim – as well as his assailant - had left the party.
But, the deputies did receive a call from St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard informing them that a man had come into the Emergency Room for treatment of several stab wounds. The Santa Paulan had cuts on his back, neck and shoulder; none of the wounds were life threatening but were serious, according to a VCSD spokesman. The victim remained hospitalized for several days before being released.The victim does not have any gang ties. The weapon used in the attack is unknown.Deputies are still investigating the assault and have made no arrests, according to the VCSD spokesman.
