One of the gunmen jumped over the Wells Fargo Bank counter into the employee area. At gunpoint the suspect ordered the bank employees to turn over the cash. Bank employees complied with the demand, and after collecting an undetermined amount of cash the three suspects ran from the bank area and out of the market. The suspects fled to a white pickup truck in the Vons parking lot and took off. They were last observed traveling southbound on Peck Road toward Highway 126.“No employees or customers were injured in the incident and no shots were fired,” noted Sgt. Saviers.The suspects were described only as two Hispanic males and a black male. Santa Paula Police and FBI investigators are handling the bank robbery case.

Three men, two armed with handguns, pulled off a dramatic heist at the Wells Fargo Bank branch inside Vons grocery market and fled after threatening a security guard and bank personnel.

The robbery occurred on Thursday, January 6 and was reported to Santa Paula Police at approximately 6:53 p.m., according to SPPD Sgt. Mike Saviers.According to witnesses, three male subjects, at least two with handguns, entered the market at 576 W. Main St. and “took over the bank,” one holding a security guard at gunpoint during the takeover, according to Sgt. Saviers. The Wells Fargo Bank branch tucked inside the south corner of Vons closes at 7 p.m., a time when business is traditional slow in grocery markets.
