Lady Cards take early lead but lose to Fillmore

The Varsity Lady Cardinals lost a non-league game to Fillmore Friday, 8-5. Santa Paula came out swinging, scoring five runs in the first three innings taking an early lead. The Lady Flashes fought back, caught up and moved ahead to take the game in the final innings.Santa Paula had 12 hits and 11 errors. Fillmore had nine hits and five errors.Heather Sliger had two runs and two hits. Talisa Garcia and Kaitlyn Heinz each had a run and a hit. Jaclyn Kohr recorded two RBIs and two hits. Nianna Morris had a double, a walk and two RBIs. Celina Rios had one run, one hit and one RBI.Nianna Morris threw the whole game for the Lady Cards. She allowed eight runs off nine hits and struck out four.
The varsity is 0-6 for the season. They start league play this week.
