The JV Lady Cardinals lost to Nordhoff in a fun, but wild game last week, 15-8. Santa Paula had 12 hits in the game to 15 for the Lady Rangers, definitely a hitter’s game.Santa Paula took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning but Nordhoff came back, taking advantage of Santa Paula errors to build a 13-2 lead after five innings. The Lady Cards bounced back with six more runs in the last two innings, but it wasn’t enough to catch Nordhoff.“We hit the ball very well off of a very good pitcher,” said Coach Henry Jacinto. “Many of our outs were also hard hit balls. Since we only have nine players left, we just ran out of energy and our defense suffered a bit. But, we never gave up against a very good Nordhoff team.”
The JV plays Oaks Christian at home Friday at 3:30 p.m.
