Who doesn’t like to play a fun game?

Who doesn’t like to play a fun game? A simple idea turned into a great way to meet new people and now it’s attracting more participants as it begins to grow. Santa Paula residents, Lisa Gunia and Ivan Cekov came up with the idea of organizing a Game Night after discussing new ways to meet people. “We wanted to create something new and exciting in order to bring people together,” stated Lisa Gunia. “Since we both have a love of games, we decided to design an evening around play,” she continued.Meeting at the Whistle Stop in Santa Paula owned by Patty Harrison and a supporter of the idea, Cekov and his game partner, Lisa Gunia, started a Game Night every first and third Thursday of the month. The team started with “Cashflow 101(tm),” a game designed by Robert Kiyosaki to teach financial concepts and practices. With the help of Keith Meyers, who hosts a Game Night in Santa Barbara, they expanded their vision to include a variety of other games that could be easily played in 20 to 30 minutes. “The night is designed for people to arrive anytime between 6 and 9 p.m. and there is always a game to join in on,” stated Ivan Cekov. “Those pressed for time can sit in for as long as they like and there is no pressure - it’s all about good, old fashioned fun,” added Cekov.
Game Night is attracting attendees as far away as Santa Barbara and continues to welcome new people who are looking for a night of fun and games. For more information, call Lisa Gunia at 805-630-0266 or Ivan Cekov at 805-907-9069.
