Harding, President, SPUHS Alumni Association Son of Lou and Jan Anabenette Stuber, “Andy” has a sister, JoAnne, Class of 1970.In addition to his studies at SPUHS, Andy was a member of the French Club and a Senior Counselor. After graduation he went to the University of Santa Clara, where he worked on the library staff while he received his bachelor’s degree in June of 1973. Here he participated in a pilot teaching assistant program. He then attended the University of Hawaii, graduating from the College of Business.Following school Andy went to work for the Hilton Corporation as restaurant manager for Victoria Station, Trans-Pacific Restaurant, Inc.From there he went to the International Savings & Loan Association, where he served as branch manager and was responsible for opening and managing a new office in Waikiki. He was promoted to Assistant Marketing Director, where he wrote and executed marketing programs, rewrote all the company brochures, and was involved in the community relations programs.Andy was next promoted to Assistant Vice President, where he was the branch manager of the International Savings Kapahulu office, his job description including savings and loan production, operations and personnel. His next promotion was to Assistant Vice President, Business Development, where he trained and supervised all Oahu branch managers and handled all aspects of mortgage loan origination.Andy is currently the Vice President of International Savings & Loan Association in Kailua, where he is responsible for all aspects of mortgage loan origination including maintaining business development contacts with Realtors, developers and contractors.
Andy has been an active member of the Chinese Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Honolulu Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is presently active in the Alu Like, Inc.; the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce; the Japan America Society of Hawaii; the Chozen-Ji, International Zen Dojo, where he is chairman of the Scholarly Studies Committee, and he planned and participated in the annual Art Show and Golf Tournament. He is also on the Building Committee and the Fund Raising Committee of this organization. He is a member of the Pacific Rim Foundation, where he is in charge of the Fund Raising Committee and a regular contributor to the newsletter.As a member of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, Andy was a State House Candidate in 1984. In 1985 he was selected as “Boss of the Year” by the Filipino Junior Chamber of Commerce.When Andy is not working at work or in organizations, he keeps busy with his hobbies of reading, jogging and martial arts.
