David Morua David Morua, age 61, of Santa Paula, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on October 13, 2000 following a lengthy battle with cancer.Mr. Morua was born December 29, 1938 in Santa Barbara, and was raised in Santa Paula. He retired after 30 years with General Motors. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, where he received a sharpshooter’s medal. He was a devoted member and Board member of the Santa Paula Moose Lodge #2097, and a member of the “A” pool team.An avid hunter, he also loved working in his yard while listening to Mexican music and lovingly taking care of his orchids. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He has touched so many hearts. He was always there with a helping hand for anyone who needed help. He will be greatly missed for his laughter and his unique humor.He is survived by his wife, Mary Morua; daughter Julie (husband, Ronnie) Alamillo; grandson Ronnie Jr. (Little Moose); granddaughter Yvonne (Little Angel); Carlos, Alicia and Marcos; brothers, Richard, Rudy, Eddie, Raymond, Arthur and Manuel Morua; sisters, Virginia Gomez and Connie Garcia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, David Morua, Jr.Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 19th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Church of Angels on the corner of 6th and Pleasant. Rosary is October 19th at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 427 N. Oak Street. There will be a mass on Friday, October 20th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.Mildred L. WellsA memorial will be held at the Santa Paula Airport on Sunday, October 22 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the life of Mildred Leona Wells, lifelong Santa Paula resident.

Box 908, Santa Paula, CA 93061.Lupe CabralLupe Cabral, age 43, of Fillmore, passed away October 12, 2000 in Los Angeles following a lengthy illness. A life long county resident, she was born July 1, 1957 in Ventura, and was a homemaker for 15 years.She is survived by her husband, Salvador Oregon of Fillmore; daughter, Elaine Silva of Fillmore; sons, Robert Silva, and Luis Oregon, Omar Oregon and Alvardo Oregon, all of Fillmore; four grandchildren; mother, Erminia Cabral of Oxnard; sisters, Pauline (husband, Jess) Carrillo of Fillmore, Virginia (husband, Ronald) Moreno of Oxnard, Josie (husband, Robert) Salas of Santa Paula, Mary (husband, Frank) Hurtado of Santa Paula, and Cecelia (husband, Simon) Camarillo of Oxnard; and brothers, Jesus Cabral of Santa Paula, John (wife, Elizabeth) Cabral of Oxnard, and Frankie (wife, Barbara) of Santa Paula.Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fillmore, with burial at Bardsdale Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Fillmore.
