Harry L. Thomas Harry L. Thomas, 83, passed away on August 14, 2008. Harry was born on February 4, 1925 in the small town of Newburg, Missouri.He was a member and deacon in the Life Way Baptist Church in Santa Paula.After leaving the Midwest, he came to Santa Paula to live after being transferred with his job with the government in 1970.In his earlier years he entered the services of his country in 1943 as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division, where he served for three and a half years. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.He loved fishing and camping, and spent many vacations on the Meramac River in Missouri.His family was very important and always came first. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. He always had a sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Frances Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Thomas and her two children and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his four children and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, August 19 at the Skillin Carroll Mortuary in Santa Paula.A special thanks to the staff at Santa Paula Healthcare for the care they gave Harry the past few weeks.Arrangements under the direction of Skillin Carroll Mortuary, 738 E.
