Three graduating seniors, all longtime members of the Mupu 4-H Club were winners of Mupu 4-H Barbara Wilson Scholarships.  Each member received an $800 scholarship.  Each winner is raising a market lamb for the Ventura County Fair this year.

Cecelia Marella graduated from St. Banaventure.  Cece joined the Mupu 4-H club when she was 6 years old.  She has raised sheep and rabbits for the Ventura County Fair 9 years, and was also involved with the snail mail, sewing, cooking, and canning projects.  She was the club treasurer for 2 years, and helped with the Relay for Life in 2009.   She has been accepted to both Northern Arizona University and Chico.  She plans to major in Zoology or Wildlife Biology.

Chris Zack graduated from Ventura High School with a GPA of 4.2. He joined the Mupu 4-H Club when he was 5 years old.   He has been raising rabbits for 13 years, lambs for 9 years, and poultry for 5 years.  He was also in the rocketry, cooking, camping, snail mail, horse, dog, cat, pocket pet, and presentation projects.  Chris was club president for 3 years. He was a Jr. All-Star and a All-Star at the county level. He was a junior leader and helped with many community service projects.  Chris feels the public speaking and leadership skills he developed from his 4-H experiences are the most useful tools he gained in 4-H.   Chris plans to attend Ventura College then transfer to a 4 year college.  He is interested in mathematics, sociology and animal science for a major and is interested in drama and service projects at college.

Ray Mini is a Ventura High School graduate.  He has been active in the lamb project for 5 years, as well as the rocketry, cooking, poultry, camping, and hiking projects.  He was the Mupu 4-H club secretary, helped at the Friends of the Library book sales for 6 years, and helped with community clean-ups many times.    Ray was also a Jr. All-Star and  All Star at the county level, where he organized and planned many county events. Ray plans to attend Ventura College then transfer to a 4 year college. He is interested in either an artistic or scientific major.
