The governing board of the Santa Paula Unified School District (SPUSD)  has approved new contracts for the three top administrators.

Without discussion the board gave Superintendent Alfonso Gamino a new three-year contract through June 30 of 2017. Along with the agreement, Gamino was granted a raise in his base salary from $160,000 to $164,800 annually.

Assistant Superintendents Donna Rose and Robin Freeman also got three-year contracts. Rose’s base salary went from $125,000 a year to $130,242. Freeman’s pay increases annually from $129,000 to $133,226.

In addition to their base pay all three administrators receive health and welfare benefits equal to that granted 12-month certificated management employees, including major medical, dental, vision and life insurance. They also accrue sick leave.

The Superintendent also gets a $400 per month car allowance. The Assistant Superintendents get a car allowance of $250 per month.

In another matter, the board heard a short update on the parking issue. Superintendent Gamino told the board that the baseball field was ready for Friday’s first football game. He said that, during the week, the field was being under-utilized by staff and that they need to encourage staff to use the field. Gamino said the field will have lights on Friday nights.
