He was caught on surveillance videotape and now Santa Paula Police are seeking the public’s help in capturing the suspect in a robbery late a night, a man that police warned should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to SPPD Sgt. Cody Madison, the January 16 incident occurred about 11:27 p.m. when a Hispanic male entered the Circle K gas station convenience store at 765 W. Harvard Blvd. just east of the Peck Road intersection.

“After walking around for several minutes the suspect covered his face with a bandana, brandished a large revolver,” pointing the weapon at the cashier and “demanded money…”

During the incident the only customer in the store is seen walking up to the counter, “stops and freezes…he appears to be aware of the robbery.”

Madison said after the suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash he fled the location, heading eastbound on West Harvard Boulevard.

“The cashier and the customer were not injured during the incident,” he noted.

The suspect was captured several times on surveillance video with and without the bandana covering his face, which could help in identifying him. “The Santa Paula Police Department needs the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect,” but Madison cautioned that the man should not be approached, as he is considered “armed and dangerous.”
