Life Choices of Ojai Valley awarded grant

Life Choices of Ojai Valley has been announced as the recipient of a grant awarded by the St. Augustine Foundation. The Foundation is an expression of the St. Augustine’s directive, “To hold all things in common” and expresses the desire of the Augustinians to be of Service to God’s people, share resources, and to participate in the Church’s mission of evangelization, bringing the Good News to the world. Life Choices was awarded $27,000 for their “Amor Omnia Vincit” or Love Conquers All project.
The $27,000 grant will be used to purchase a portable ultrasound machine allowing Life Choices to schedule ultrasounds at other locations away from the pregnancy center. “This will allow us to provide valuable services to those in need at locations where they feel most comfortable.” said Michelle Kolbeck, Executive Director of Life Choices of Ojai Valley. “We look forward to better serving teenagers, pregnant mothers, women in crisis and families needing a helping hand.”
A non-profit organization, Life Choices serves over 100 clients a month, primarily single mothers with incomes of less than $20,000. Life Choices provides free ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing, diapers, baby wipes, baby clothing, equipment and education.
Life Choices’ mission is to honor God by promoting the innate value of each human life. With love and compassion we provide practical medical and social services to encourage healthy life choices including sexual purity, personal responsibility and alternatives to abortion.
