Helen M. Gallio, a long time resident of Santa Paula, passed away on May 18, 2004 of natural causes. Mrs. Gallio was 93 years old and was born, raised and lived in Santa Paula all of her life. She was the daughter of Elizabeth and Walter Harrington. She is predeceased by her husband, John Gallio.Mrs. Gallio was active in local art circles and was the first president of the Santa Paula Society for the Arts and a founding member. She was an accomplished artist who exhibited her works at numerous art shows in Southern California.Mrs. Gallio is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Donaldson of Camarillo and Mildred Newman of Ventura; her son, Donald Richardson of Newport Beach; and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.Interment will be at the Santa Paula Cemetery. CrawfordDonald Crawford, 75, of Fillmore, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2004 at his residence with his loving wife by his side.Don was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on March 24, 1929, and lived all of his life in Santa Paula or Fillmore, and was a graduate of Santa Paula High School with the Class of 1947. Don was a self-employed businessman, having owned and operated the Valley Ford Tractor in Fillmore for over 41 years.Don was a man of many talents and enjoyed being busy and when not at work in his business you could find him working in his yard and building all kinds of items. In prior years Don enjoyed bowling, and in later years golf and camping occupied his time.Don served on several boards of directors in the Santa Clara River Valley, including the Fillmore FFA and the Goodenough Mutual Water District.Don is survived by his wife, Jeanette Crawford; sons Steve (wife Jerri) Crawford and Michael Crawford; stepchildren Debbie De Flores and Leanne (husband Eric) Vawter; grandchildren, Eric Crawford, Daniel Crawford, David Crawford, Mike Torres, Alex De Flores, Kirsten De Flores, Patrick Regan and Shaun Regan; and great-grandchildren, Kasey Crawford, Dylan Crawford and Aimee Regan. Don is also survived by his twin sister Dorothy (husband Bill) Reed, and his brother Jon (wife Ginger) Crawford.Don was predeceased by his grandfather, Dr. John Crawford, who was one of the first pioneer doctors and the first public health officer in Santa Paula, his father Clare C. Crawford and his first wife Peggy Crawford in 1986.Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 21 at 2 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be may be made to Hospice of Santa Clara Valley, 133 N.
