Ralph Blodget Ralph Blodget, of Bakersfield, died Saturday, January 15, 2000 at the San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield.He was born December 6, 1909 in Brighton, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy, and more recently was employed by Continental Can Company for 40 years as an accountant and office manager, retiring in 1974.Ralph married Joyce in 1975, and they moved to Santa Paula in November, 1975. For many years he served as a volunteer income tax preparer, and with Meals On Wheels and Renters and Homeowners Assistance in Santa Paula.Ralph took great pride in their home and yard, and especially loved taking care of his roses. He had a natural talent in repairing and installing most everything.Ralph and Joyce moved to Bakersfield in December, 1998.He was preceded in death by his parents, and was the last surviving child of 10 children. He will be greatly missed by his wife Joyce, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 22 at the Santa Paula First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Merle Lehman presiding.Randy J. LopezRandy J. Lopez, age 42, of Santa Paula, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2000 in Ventura, after a long illness.Randy was a life long Santa Paula resident, and had worked as a driver for Decca Trim Paints for 15 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Dolores Amaro and Marine Lopez, both of Santa Paula; two sons, Ernie Lopez and Randy Lopez Jr., both of Santa Paula; four sisters, Marilyn and husband Rudy Cardoza of Santa Paula, Nancy and husband Alfred Opolka of Ventura, Diana Lopez of Bakersfield, and Olivia Morua of Santa Paula; brother Ralph Huizar of Santa Paula; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; godsons Max Moreno, Frank Anaya and Frank Hurtado; and goddaughters Cynthia Moreno, Vanessa Guiajardo and Alyssa Lopez. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Huizar in 1992.A funeral mass was held on Thursday, January 20 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with the Reverend Father Nelson Trinidad officiating. Burial followed at Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula.Marie “Gramma Ree” DunganMarie “Gramma Ree” Dungan, age 93, of Santa Paula, passed away January 17, 2000. She was born June 4, 1906 in Arapaho, Nebraska, and was a homemaker and county resident for 75 years, coming from Orange County.She is survived by her daughters, Donna Lo Bue of Visalia and Cheryl Nichols of Santa Paula; daughter-in-law Lo Ree Dungan of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandchildren, Tom Dungan Jr. of Manchester, New Hampshire, Dennis Dungan of Cheyenne, WY, Mike Jarvis of Exeter, and Jeff Hibbard of Fillmore; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Jack Dungan and son Tom Dungan.Visitation will be on Friday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula. Services will be held at Skillin-Carroll January 21 at 1 p.m., Rev. Chuck Laird of First Presbyterian Church of Santa Paula officiating. Burial will be at Bardsdale Cemetery in Fillmore.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Santa Clara Valley Hospice, Santa Paula.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.
