Eunice Abbiatti Eunice Abbiatti, 88, left this world of pain on Friday, October 14, 2004, having spent the last two months of her life at Santa Paula Healthcare.She was the fifth child of six born to William F. and Nora (Hendrick) Skaggs on October 6, 1916. She was raised and lived her whole life in Santa Paula.Her husband was Frank Abbiatti and preceded her in death in 1981, as well as her sister Cleo Hunt and brothers Kenneth, Eugene and Harry.Eunice worked for Briggs Lemon, Johnny Burleson’s Chili Hut, and for 27 years she worked for Dr. Robert E. Malone, having been trained as a nurse and office manager by Dr. Malone for his office.Eunice served as Isbell School PTA president in the 1940s. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge for many years and served a term as Noble Grand.Eunice and Frank raised three children, and she was always there for them, whatever the crisis. She was a people server in that she was always helping or doing for all who needed help. Her mind and hands were always busy with crafts or handwork in her home and Dr. Malone’s office, as well as her happy face and many kindnesses.Eunice is survived by her three children, daughters Dixie (husband Harold) Carpenter of Santa Paula and Charlene Smith of Ojai, and son Bill (wife Wanda) Abbiatti of Phoenix, Arizona; and grandchildren, Gordon (wife Kathy) Carpenter of Sandy, Utah, Cheryl Carpenter of Santa Paula, Luanne (husband Michael) Keel of Valrico, Florida, Tony Graves of Ojai, Shawna Smith of Bakersfield, Michael (wife Jill) Graves of Maryville, Tennessee, Rhonda (husband Jamie) Frahm of Washington State, Kristie (husband Jason) Vertin of Ventura, Bill (wife Kristen) Abbiatti of Mesa, Arizona, Michelle (husband Matt) Knaus-Behal of Ventura, and Nicole (husband Donnie) Davis of Surprise, Arizona. Eunice has 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Nova Abbiatti of Santa Paula.Eunice was a member of the Church of Christ in Santa Paula, and there will be a memorial service at the Church of Christ, 276 W. Santa Paula St., on Saturday, October 23 at 11 a.m.The family wishes to thank everyone at Santa Paula Healthcare for the wonderful care of our Mother and Grandmother during her stay there.Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, 525-5595.Ruby Boosey CorrinRuby Boosey Corrin was born December 27, 1898 in Bardsdale, California. Ruby passed away October 17, 2004 at 105 years.She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jean and Bill Morris; grandchildren, the Tod Corrin family, the Robert Adelson family, the Garth Bacon family, the John Morris family, the Jeff Morris family, the David Bunning family and the Didier Frachon family; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.A memorial service will be held at the Wee Kirk of the Heather at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 S. She was 89 years old.
She was born February 20, 1915 on a ranch in Saticoy. Annette was the youngest of 11 children of Hugh Clark and Bernettie Josephine Clark. She attended local schools and graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1932.In 1935 she married William Grainger Sr. in the parsonage of the First Christian Church in Santa Paula. Annette was a member of the First Baptist Church for over 50 years.She was preceded in death by her husband on July 24, 1999. She is survived by two sons, William Jr. (Julie) of Central Point, Oregon and Kenneth of Kingman, Arizona; five grandchildren, Laurie, Mark and Janet of Oregon, and Heather and Michael of Arizona; and two great grandchildren, Matthew and Sara of Oregon.Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 22 at the Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements are under the care of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.Mary Louise BrydenMary Louise Bryden, 62, of Ojai, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 9, 2004 following a lengthy illness.She was born August 24, 1942 in Santa Paula, the daughter of John and Arlie Freedle. Louise graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1960, where she was well known and a top student. A lifelong resident of Ventura County, she was a 30-year resident of Ojai.Louise worked for the former Santa Paula Savings & Loan branch, and more recently retired as a drafting engineer from Pacific Bell.She is survived by her two sons, Kevin Bryden of Durango, Colorado and Aaron Bryden of Ojai; and sisters, Patricia Culbertson (husband Skip) of Sacramento, Shirley Quinn of Sunny Valley, Oregon, and Beverly Gladden (husband Patrick) of Ventura.Memorial services were held on the flower-laden lanai of the Ventura home of Patrick and Beverly Gladden, led by Brent Ashby and attended by family.Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.Arrangements are under the direction of Clausen Family Home, Ojai.
