Marvin Louis LaBrot 1928-2004Marvin LaBrot was born in Santa Paula September 10, 1928. He died in Santa Paula October 31, 2004.Marvin attended local grade schools and graduated with the class of 1946 from SPUHS. He attended Ventura J.C. His working life was at Glen City Service on Main Street, which he inherited from his father Nicholas LaBrot. He was a member of the Santa Paula Masonic Lodge #291 F & A.M. for 54 years. His love of sports was for auto racing and flying gliders. He was happiest when soaring with the Eagles.Marv is survived by his best friend “Duke,” his good friend of over 64 years, Beverly Harding. He is also survived by his son “Chuck” and his son Robbie of Ventura, his daughter Karen and her daughter Janae of Ojai and Karen’s son Josh of San Francisco, his daughter Kim, his son-in-law Bob Dryden, and their children Nikki, Candace and Kyle of Santa Paula. Marv is also survived by his deceased son’s children Lynsey and Matt of Murphy’s, California and his ex-wife Janet, the mother of his children. Marvin’s sister Evelyn Forster of Anacortes, WA also survives.Inurnment handled by Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary will be with his former wife Patricia, his son David, and his parents, Nicholas and Nellie LaBrot.Masonic graveside services will be Saturday, November 13 at 10 a.m. at the Santa Paula Cemetery.Marvin’s favorite charity was St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.Oscar B. MirandaOscar B. Miranda, 59, of Santa Paula, passed away October 22, 2004. He was born August 4, 1945 in Sinaloa, Mexico, and had been a county resident for 38 years, coming from Culiacan, New Mexico.Mr. Miranda was a supervisor at Limoneira Ranch. A musician, he loved to play the guitar. He also loved to be with his grandchildren and family.He is survived by his wife, Celia Miranda; sons, Oscar Miranda and Ramon Miranda; daughters, Anita Gonzales and Patricia Magana; grandchildren, Joseph, Angelic, Cassandra, Miranda, Noah, Naomi, Samantha, Tai, Manny, Tony, and Molly; brother Pedro Miranda; and sister Lourdes Grenwal.Burial was at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Jessica Monique RoblesJessica Monique Robles, 19, of Santa Paula, passed away November 5, 2004 in Ventura in a car accident.Jessica was born August 17, 1985 in Ventura, CA. She was a graduate of Santa Paula High School, Class of 2003.Jessica would volunteer her time at the Santa Paula Little League snack bar. She also worked at Tresierras Supermarket as a cashier for four years. She enjoyed shopping, collecting purses and handbags; she also loved wearing pink.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bernard Arellano and Virginia Flores, and aunt Isabel Luna.She was loved very much by her mother Carolyn Robles and Armando Ramirez; brother, Jesse Arellano; sister, Esther Ramirez; boyfriend, Tony Calderon; aunt and uncle, Gustavo and Anita Ramirez; niños, Tony and Lisa Lopez, Jerry and Janet Brown (Santa Paula), and Ben and Dee Arellano (Visalia); and cousins, Michael Luna, Michelle Paramo, Anita Ramirez Montiel, Lori Ramirez, Gustavo Ramirez, Jr., Kevin Arellano, Jason Arellano, Jeremy Brown, Jake Brown, Anthony Lopez, Sarena Lopez, and Aric Lopez; along with their spouses and children and extended family members, co-workers and friends.I love you Gorda, very much.
