Varsity boys open season at Simi Tourney

The Varsity boys’ basketball team started off their season at a tough Simi Valley Tournament last weekend. They opened up against host Simi Valley with a 73-30 loss. Daniel Pachuca was the Cards’ high scorer with 9 points.Next up was a 67-44 loss to Monroe. Anthony Del Rio hit for 12 points, Andrew Huizar had 9 points and 8 rebounds and Andy Jimenez had 10 rebounds for Santa Paula.The third contest was closer, with the Cards losing to Buena 53-30. Pachuca was the high scorer with 12 points and Jorge Cancino had 6.The final game was against El Camino. The Cardinals lost that one 76-32. Huizar hit for 10 points.
