Santa Paula News
Times are tough and donations have decreased across the nation. But here in Santa Paula, Blois Construction stepped up in a big way to keep the construction project for two needy families on track! In the early morning of April 13th, a team of about eight Blois staff dug critical sewer lines that if not done, threatened to stop construction and essentially stop all the incredible work to start the Santa Paula duplex project 145 South Ojai Street. This support was donated by Blois at a time Habitat had no solution in sight. Suzzi Crouch, Development Director with Habitat for Humanity commented that, “Habitat is thrilled to have the generous support from Blois so we can continue the work so our families can never stop believing that dreams do come true!”Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is celebrating the Santa Paula home as it represents the affiliate’s 50th home construction! As Ms. Crouch states, “Habitat for Humanity does not just provide the home, we provide a new start for many local families by owning a home that gives them security, safety, and an opportunity to dream big!” She continues to mention that “it takes approximately 1,120 volunteers and 6,720 hours from these amazing volunteers to build a home. The process brings together individuals, families, neighbors, businesses...it really pulls in the community and that is what makes Habitat so special!”
