Grand Re-Opening at Boys & Girls Club set for Saturday, September 25th

It is the Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids, United Way’s Day of Caring and the Club’s Grand Re-Opening Celebration of the completion of the remodeling project that has been on-going since the beginning of the year! The day will be filled with kid’s games, activities and Club tours for kids, parents and community members.

The Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America’s children by spending meaningful time with them. It’s about celebrating kids - children, grandchildren or any child in need of mentoring, and is celebrated by Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. Adults are encouraged to make the BGC Day for Kids pledge a part of this special day. “We pledge to spend meaningful time together, to talk, to listen, to learn and to play, to share a moment, create a memory and make a kid’s day.”  Volunteers from the United Way Day of Caring will be helping with the games and activities, Boys & Girls Club Board Members will be grilling and serving hot dogs, chips and beverages for the guests and their families, making the day complete!

In conjunction with this Day for Kids event, the Club is very excited to announce its Grand Re-Opening, showing off all the construction improvements that have been completed and has made the Club more up to date for its members. The construction ranges from a remodeled lobby to heating/air conditioning units in the Computer Lab, the Games Room and the Learning Center. The lighting in these three areas has also been updated, replacing years old lighting fixtures, only of few of which actually worked, with modern recessed, indirect lights. The look is new, modern and clean, a wonderful environment for our members’ after school time.
