You’ll want to be a first responder when the Santa Paula Police & Fire Foundation hosts a Chamber of Commerce Mixer to be held Wednesday July 18 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The Mixer will be held at Santa Paula Fire Station #2, located on West Main Street where the Santa Paula Firefighters Association will be preparing a tasty barbecue.

The cost is only $5 per person and includes one drink, a raffle ticket and of course plenty of barbecue. There will be public safety displays and demonstrations making this the most unusual Mixer of the year!

The SPP&FF was incorporated in October 2007 after Bud Brown saw the need for a fundraising organization dedicated solely to the needs of public safety.

Since that time the foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for equipment and programs, ranging from the Jaws of Life extrication tools and an electrical current detecting Hot Stick for fire to non-lethal Tasers for police officers and McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog a valuable tool for the SPPD in working with children.

The Santa Paula Police and Fire Mobile Command Post 5th wheel will also be on display.

Each year the SPP&FF partners with the Chamber of Commerce to present Moonlight at the Ranch, the main foundation fundraiser. This year’s Moonlight will be held September 22 at Limoneira Ranch Headquarters on Cummings Road.

With the theme “Creatures of the Night!” tickets to this sixth annual Moonlight at the Ranch, Ventura County’s signature celebration, will be available at the July 18 Santa Paula Police & Fire Foundation Chamber of Commerce Mixer.
