Amgen Tour of California returns to Santa Paula

The Amgen Tour of California, the largest professional cycling race in North America, returns to Santa Paula May 15 for the first time since 2008.
The Amgen race is modeled after the Tour de France and is governed by the International Cycling Federation. The 8-day race consists of 16 teams, each with eight riders. The 2013 race will have eight point-to-point stages, starting in Escondido on May 12 and concluding in Santa Rosa on May 19.
On May 15 Stage 4 will begin in Santa Clarita and pass through Santa Paula as it heads to the finish in Santa Barbara.
