In addition, committee members have been “sifting through the 35-plus single pages,” containing bullet points covering areas targeted by participants.Area youth will be interested in attending an upcoming High School/Visioning Workshop crafted to their needs and ideas as well as creating a Youth Vision Statement. The Santa Paula Citywide Visioning Committee is about to send its first newsletter and preparing to ask the public to again help craft the future of the city.
By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesThe Santa Paula Citywide Visioning Committee is about to send its first newsletter and preparing to ask the public to again help craft the future of the city.On the agenda for March is a Community Visioning Workshop where results of the ongoing surveys will be presented and themes and categories prioritized.In addition, participants will be asked to break into small groups to address goal/vision statements and implementation steps.The workshop will be held March 6th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center at the corner of Main Street and Steckel Drive.The Visioning Committee, whose motto is “This is our community, let’s shape the future!” has “received about 500 cards community-wide,” as well as approximately 500 more of the survey forms from area youth, visioning consultant Susan Jackson said at the Feb. 2 City Council meeting.
