Boys sweep Nordhoff on soccer field

The Cardinal boys took both the JV and varsity games against Nordhoff last week. The JV boys won their game 7-1. The varsity game was closer, but the Cards won 2-1. Gabriel Chavez started things off for the Santa Paula varsity with a goal, followed in the first half by a goal from Alex Puga, with an assist from Chavez. This was their Frontier League opener. The Cardinal varsity has an overall record of 8-4-1 and a league record of 1-0. (above) Chavez (#17) goes airborne after the ball.
