Soroptimist’s Women of Distinction named

After careful consideration of the nominations submitted, six women have been chosen by Soroptimist International of Santa Paula as this year’s “Women of Distinction”: Norma Emery, Health; Carol Burhoe, International Goodwill and Understanding; Leslie Nichols, Economic and Social Development; Annie Hernandez (deceased) and Becky Torres, Environment; and Eulala Keller, Human Rights and Status of Women. The Women of Distinction program is sponsored by Soroptimist International, and the Santa Paula honorees will be eligible to go on to regional and national awards.A recognition dinner for these distinctive women will be given on Wednesday, February 16 at Logsdon’s Restaurant at the airport at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited. The dinner is $20 per person. RSVP with payments by February 11 to Diane Martinez, c/o First Western Bank, 933-0300.
