A Santa Paula woman was one of three arrested by Simi Valley Police as the result of a sting targeting suspected prostitution, conducted at massage parlors in the East County city.
According to a SVPD spokesman, between January 19 and January 24, officers arrested massage therapists after undercover officers were solicited for sex acts. The latest arrests were made at VIP Massage, located in the 1800 block of Cochran Street, Siam Thai Massage in the 2000 block of Tapo Street, and JJ Spa, located in the 1500 block of Los Angeles Avenue.
Aside from the unidentified 49-year-old Santa Paula woman, the other suspects arrested were a 36-year-old Reseda woman and a 25-year-old woman from the Porter Ranch area. All three suspects were cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution.
The sting came only about a month after a similar action by Simi Valley Police resulted in two arrests for suspicion of solicitation. In that action police were following up on complaints about suspected prostitution, and sting operations were launched in late December.
The arrests were made at West Coast Massage, in the 1700 block of Los Angeles Avenue and W&H Massage, in the 1700 block of Erringer Road. Both women arrested were also cited on suspicion of solicitation for prostitution, a misdemeanor, and released with a written promise to appear in court.
Simi Valley Police say they plan to continue investigating massage businesses suspected of prostitution, targeting managers and owners who allow such activities as well as customers who visit such establishments for sexual activity. Simi Valley Police are asking anyone with information about suspected prostitution at massage parlors to call 583-6950.
