The Boys and Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley Harvard site has continued to welcome interesting and motivating speakers. As part of the club's “Speaker of the Week" program, the Harvard site was fortunate enough to have Lorenzo “Lencho” Moraza address its club members.

Mr. Moraza, himself a former club member, expressed to club members how the Boys and Girls Club helped him assimilate when he and his family arrived in the U.S. from Mexico. “The Club enabled me to make friends very easily and provided me with good role models as well,” he stated. Mr. Moraza entertained and enlightened club members with the story of his personal career and educational paths.

Mr. Moraza has served the Santa Paula community as an educator, school administrator, and community activist over an extended period of time, and the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley was very pleased to welcome him. “His story really hit home with me, he went through a lot of the same things that I’m going through," said club member Salvador Manriquez.

The Harvard Boys & Girls Club would like to express their gratitude to Mr. Moraza for his participation in the program and support of the Club! For information on this or any other Boys & Girls Club programs contact mmontoya@bgcscv.org.
