ARC replaces plaque with new wording

A large brass plaque on the front of the ARC of Ventura County facility on 10th street has had one line on the original plaque replaced. The line in question used to include the words “Mental Retardation.” After receiving letters from some ARC clients the board decided to update that line. It now reads, “With Developmental Disabilities.” The original plaque was put up when the Santa Paula facility first opened. Putting up the new plaque are, (l-r) Aaron Benner (ARC Staff), Rodger Embury (Board Member) and Ernie Rischar (volunteer).
