Mildred Marshall
Mildred Marshall, 83, of Santa Paula, passed away Monday, January 5, 2004 at Santa Paula Healthcare where she was living. Mildred was born on February 8, 1920 in Gunnison, Colorado. She had been a homemaker all her life.She has joined her loved ones who have preceded her in death, her husband Welbert, daughter “Ruby Grace,” and son Roy D. Marshall.She leaves three daughters, Wanda K. Cabler of Port Hueneme, Helen Dixon-Bliss of Santa Paula, and Patricia Vadsey of Gilbert, Arizona; several grandchildren, Terri Neal, Rhonda Lee, James Cabler, Jr., Rudy Dixon, Pamela Dixon, Kimberly Nickerson, and Robert Perry; great-grandchildren Jamie Neal, Steven and Kaylee Neal, Branson and Jordan Lee, and Brandy Cabler; brothers Victor, David, Donnie, Ernie, Carl and William Prosser and one sister, Rosemary Prieskie, who all live in the state of Colorado; and daughter-in-law Betty E. Marshall of Santa Paula.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 12 at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E. Santa Paula St., Santa Paula. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no graveside services.Mildred Marshall has been entrusted to the care of the family-owned Skillin-Carroll Mortuary.Thomas Eugene RileyBorn June 9, 1930 Santa Paula entered into rest January 1, 2004 Roseville, CA.He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Martha Riley of Roseville; his children, Michael Riley of Roseville, Helen Derksen and husband Scott of El Dorado Hills, Maureen Dumas and husband Lawrence of Roseville, Tom Riley of Seattle, WA, Elise Newton and husband Douglas of San Jose; grandchildren Claire, Natalie and Grace Derksen, Hannah and Benjamin Dumas, Madeline, Jack, Cameron and Blake Newton; brothers and sisters Lucy Riley, Charles Riley and wife Ann, Ronald and wife Dottie, Betty Sisk and husband Herm, Janet Whitlach and husband Robert, Marilyn Sawyer and husband Douglas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Thomas M. Riley and Jean Douglas Riley, brother Dick Riley, niece Leann Riley, and nephew Charles Riley.Thomas graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1948. He then served his country during the Korean war in the US Air Force. Then attended and graduated from Colorado State College of Education in 1957. In 1966 he and his family moved to Roseville, where he taught, counseled and coached for 30 Years at Oakmont and Roseville High. Thomas was also a member of the Oak Grove Golf Group.
